HiT Software has released DB2Motion 3.0, adding Oracle 9i and MySQL to
its set of supported platforms. With Oracle 9i support, replication can
be set for single or regular refresh, or continuous mirroring. When
Oracle 9i tables are defined as a replication source, transactions logs
are monitored for accuracy and timely data replication. DB2Motion has
also added support for MySQL as a replication target and metadata
repository. MySQL databases are supported regardless of the platform
where MySQL is running. It also includes iSeries and AS/400
connectivity for versions of OS/400 between V3R1 and V5R2. DB2Motion
3.0 is available for Windows NT4/2000.
New from PolarLake is the PolarLake Database Integrator, targeting XML
and Web service enablement of existing relational database
applications. This tool consists of a set of graphical wizards that

applications. It automates development tasks such as automatically
repairing interdependencies, and provides you with a unified
environment for developing, integrating, and maintaining applications.
New features in Version 6 include: new modeling functionality that
provides new views into applications including object relationships,
dependency mapping, and UI flow; a unified dashboard that includes
information on global architecture, integration dependencies, and
version history; and two interfaces-a browser-based business rules
editor and a rich developer client. LogicLibrary has released Logidex 1.4, a software development asset (SDA) discovery and mapping engine that uses active design to link
business processes to software components. Logidex 1.4 includes an
asset viewer that provides you with a graphical, intuitive mechanism
for quickly understanding web service architectures, patterns, and
frameworks, and the software components that underlie them. The new
version also includes integration with single sign-on servers, so users
accessing Logidex through a development portal, integrated development
environment, or other application development tool do not need to log
into Logidex separately.
Zend Technologies has released Zend Performance Suite 3.0. The suite
includes three integrated components: Content Caching, which decreases
the number of times a server must run complex scripts, execute
resource-intensive database queries, or call external web services;
Code Acceleration, which performs a precompilation of PHP scripts; and
Data Compression, which increases the end-user download speed and
decreases the workload on HTTP servers. These capabilities are
accessible in a single console environment, which also includes an
integrated benchmarking load test and a guided process to identify the
best path for optimization.
Amtec Engineering has announced the release of Tecplot Edge, a plotting
and data visualization tool. Tecplot Edge lets you quickly add plotting,

TurboDB.NET, from dataWeb, is the first database engine to support XCOPY
deployment. It allows for side-by-side execution and runs from CD as well
as any Windows web space. TurboDB.NET consists of three assemblies: The
first is the database engine written in unmanaged code; the second contains
the native ADO.NET data provider, which has been written from the ground
up to bypass all the COM and OLEDB layers still present in the existing
ADO.NET data providers from Microsoft; and the third assembly contains
the first-class design-time support, which includes the data adapter configuration,
generation of typed data sets, result set preview, and more.
