New to Version 1.3 is C++ embedded code generation, in addition to C#
and VB .NET; file-based code generation, regardless of language; a template
editor that runs as a standalone application, outside of Visual Studio;
and enhanced workgroup features such as networked template locations.
Parasoft has updated both its SOAPtest and .TEST error prevention tools.
SOAPtest 2.1, which now includes support for ebXML, automatically performs
server functional testing, load testing, and client testing as well as
creating test suites from WSDL documents. SOAPtest runs on Windows 2000/XP,
Linux, and Solaris. .TEST is a set of over 200 built-in coding standards
for Visual C# .NET, Visual Basic .NET, and managed Visual C++ .NET., and
it now includes RuleWizard, a tool for designing custom coding standards.
Teranex has introduced an MPEG Artifact Reducer to address DCT compression
artifacts common to MPEG, JPEG, and DV material (such as the Gibbs Effect,
blocking, quilting and I-frame pulsing). In addition to image enhancement,
Teranex also provides a suite of applications for improving film-originated
standard-definition and high-definition material; the imageRestore tools
address dirt concealment, noise and grain reduction, scratch concealment
and image instability.
Quality Checked Software is now distributing Cantata++ 3.1, a software
testing tool for C/C++ programmers. Among the new features available in
Cantata++ 3.1 is an enhanced set of Java-based test wizards, which allow
access to private class members, automatically wrap calls to external
functions, and generate template test scripts. An HTML Results Viewer
is also included for graphical presentation of test results in your test.
Cantata++ now supports the GNU C++ v3.2 compiler as well as other compilers.
AgenSoft has released Patch Factory 2.0 for Windows, a program that helps
you create patch packages for software and file updating. Generated patch
packages are small self-extracting executable update programs with an
adjustable multilingual interface (English, German, Italian, French, Polish
and Czech languages are available). Patches can modify or replace installed
software files to add new features, fix bugs, or add support for new hardware.
Borland's Together Edition for Microsoft Visual Studio.NET is an agile
design and modeling environment for .NET written in native C#. The UI
is consistent with that of Visual Studio .NET. In Together, changes made
to models are simultaneously replicated in code and vice versa. The software
also features automated documentation, and software patterns designed
to work as application blueprints. Organizations can create and modify
their own patterns.
Extended Systems has announced Advantage Database Server 7.0. The new
Advantage JDBC Driver lets Java applications native access Advantage Database
Server, while the .NET Data Provider allows ADO.NET applications native
access. The new release also supports triggers, for enforcing complex
