Zugg Software has released zApp 2.0, an application development tool for Windows. zApp lets you create software that can be modified by end users. Using Perl, JavaScript, VBScript, Python, and other languages compatible with the Windows Scripting Host, end users can create "plug-ins" that add features to your software. Multiple scripting languages can be used within one application for added flexibility. zApp includes a set of visual components that support Themes and Skins. Existing ActiveX and COM components can also be used within zApp. The tool features database support based on JDBC so that Microsoft ADO is not required. zApp applications support popular databases. The developer's version lets you encrypt zApp programs, while still allowing end users to customize them.
Softel vdm has released a new version of SftTabs/ATL 5.0 for use with Visual Basic 6 applications. The Version 5 offers 66 basic tab control styles, each of which can be customized. This version also introduces six new tab styles, gradient fill backgrounds, built-in MDI-style Close, Minimize and Restore buttons including tool tips, new button styles, simplified deployment using Registration-Free Activation on Windows XP and extensive online help. The tab control supports many different styles and tab locations (such as top, left, right, or bottom). Among its many features are background bitmaps, user-definable multirow indentation, and scrollable tabs. Scrollable tabs offer several button styles, which can even use custom images.
The MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench is a J2EE IDE that enhances Eclipse with additional features for enterprise Java development. Version 4.0 introduces a number of features, including UML modeling, Tapestry support, and an advanced Oracle connector for editing events, triggers, and stored procedures. MyEclipse JSF Developer includes support for Sun JSF RI 1.1.01, MyFaces 1.0.9, and Faces Config Designer all integrated with MyEclipse Hot-Sync Deployment and WAR Export Tools. MyEclipse Hibernate enhancements include a new Hibernate Configuration editor and a Simplified Hibernate support wizard.
Absoft has announced support of its Pro Fortran 9.2 Compiler Suite for Apple's Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system. Pro Fortran 9.2 provides full support for Apple's 64-bit operating system, letting Fortran developers fully exploit the entire addressable memory space of the G5 processor for the first time. Pro Fortran 9.2 can produce programs optimized for either 32-bit or 64-bit Mac OS X systems. Pro Fortran 9.2 still supports Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Pro Fortran 9.2 also includes the Absoft IDE with programmer's editor, graphical debugger, graphical libraries, and other tools. Further 9.2 improvements include Absoft's application framework, the Macintosh Runtime Window Environment (MRWE) completely rewritten in Fortran 95 (with full source code included).
Dangberg Software Solutions has announced the release of Version 4.0 of its Jindent Java source-code formatter. Version 4.0 supports more than 300 formatting options and all language features of Java 5.0, including generics and other language extensions. Additionally, Jindent 4.0 introduces a new GUI design and native installers for all major operation systems. The Jindent 4.0 formatting engine includes functionality such as full-control sorting support for Java source-code fragments. Integrations with all major Java IDEs (JBuilder, Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEA, and JDeveloper) are included.
Recursion Software has announced enhancements to Cinergi, its web services integration platform for multilanguage environments. Cinergi 1.02 support has been added for IBM's AIX platform. Error- reporting capabilities have been extended, including streamlined error-message handling. For C++ integration, intelligence has been added to source parsing.
Tangible Engineering has released Tangible Architect 2.0, an updated version of its model-driven code generator for Visual Studio.NET. New features include UML support, business-object generation, database schema generation, data binding, and an object-oriented database browser. Tangible Architect generates a full business object implementation including data access code from C# interface definitions or UML.
FairCom has released its c-tree Server for Apple's Mac OS X Server 10.4 Tiger operating system. The new database server exploits one of Tiger's major new features-64-bit support. The redesigned kernel and updated system software allows 64-bit addressing for extended memory access, thereby making available huge amounts of memory for application developers. In addition, the new operating system uses the latest version of the GCC compiler, GCC 4.0, featuring support for 64-bit code generation. Developers using FairCom's c-tree Server SDK, which lets you compile your own custom server, benefit from both the 64-bit code generation and the performance of this new compiler.

The new Alienware Area-51 7500 desktop system features both NVIDIA SLI technology and Intel dual-core technology. Area-51 7500 systems use two NVIDIA-based graphics cards that work together to form a single image. Available with the Intel Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840, the Area-51 7500 also provides two processing cores on a single chip, driven by Intel Hyper-Threading Technology for enhanced multitasking potential. Alienware is also offering a new mid-tower case design that includes a locking door which folds to the side.
m9P Editor Plus is a complete rich text editor that features the DERT technique for compiled "distributable executable rich text." By default, the application handles text editing with the standard rich text format (RTF) found in documents with the (.rtf) extension, but users wishing to protect their publications from tampering can distribute the rich text—with all of its embedded images and objects—as a single compressed and secured executable program. A mechanism to export text to PDF or HTML is included.
